The peninsula of Cap de Creus lies to the North from Empuriabrava and the Bay of Roses. The cape is the easternmost spur of Pyrenees which is now a protected natural erserve (Parc natural de Cap de Creus). It is very interesting from biological and geological points of view and the area became very popular for geological field cources thanks to its accessibility and fantastic location. Roses Granodiorite is one of well-known geological structures which may be easily observed if you go for a walk to the North of Roses town.

Cadaques

Probably the most famous place in the area, Cadaques transformed from a small village on Cap de Creus to a local arts and cultural center. Being located off main roads the town preserved local atmosphere and added some international charm after it became a popular destination for artists from around the globe.

The town is located within its own picturesque small bay. Visiting Cadaques and Salvador Dali's house in adjascent Portlligat is now a popular tourist route.
